         AV Equipment

At DAC:
AV Equipment (HW/SW)

Each session room contains a video projector connected to a desktop computer with MS PowerPoint 2000 professional and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Internet connections are not available in the session room.

MS PowerPoint 2000 is backward compatible with older versions of PowerPoint and with Apple Macintosh version, though some minor incompatibility issues may occur. Be sure to check your talk in the A/V practice rooms. Contact slides@dac.com if you have any questions.

Use either the DAC-supplied desktop computer or your own notebook (PC or MAC) and the DAC-supplied projection equipment.

PDF-files can be shown in those cases where the use of MS PowerPoint proves to be impossible. They are static presentations, however (no animation) and we advise against it.

The use of slides and overhead transparencies will not be possible except in panel sessions.

Video recording
Sessions will be video'd.

Again this year, one of the ballrooms will be equipped with video recording equipment. The video’d presentations will be published on the web with both a video part and a synchronized PowerPoint part. Special instructions will go out to the speakers in these sessions. The technology for viewing video presentations on the web is currently best suited for those with a high bandwidth connection.
