Where Design Meets... Wireless

DAC's Wireless Walk & Wireless Showcase Call for Participation

Wireless is hot and clearly on the rise. Within the wireless equipment industry, growth is explosive and is serving as a primary driver of growth in semiconductors. According to Gartner Dataquest, in 2004 wireless semiconductor revenue grew in excess of $35 billion, a growth increase of more than 40% from the previous year. It is predicted that this growth will continue because wireless has proven its worth to the consumer. The wireless phone has become a lifestyle tool, allowing consumers to communicate and connect how they want, when they want, and where they want. While the wireless phone has clearly grabbed the attention of consumers around the world, the list of wireless devices and applications only continues to expand, serving as an important demand driver for the EDA industry.

This year, the Design Automation Conference is doing something dramatically different. In recognition of the world's enthusiastic embrace of wireless applications, DAC will feature an unprecedented number and range of events, and activities devoted exclusively to wireless design issues and challenges. In fact, we're devoting an entire day to the subject: Wireless Wednesday, June 15, featuring Technical Sessions, Pavilion Panels, special displays, and presentations in the Wireless Showcase in booth #1968.

The conference will explore and debate the hottest new wireless trends and technologies as well as the impact they will have on implementation strategies, architectures, and methodologies. Conference attendees can turn to DAC and find the latest EDA and IP solutions that will help drive the next generation of wireless design and development. But where is wireless headed next? And what are the winning wireless products of tomorrow?

Wireless Design products can also be found on the exhibit floor. Visit the Wireless Showcase in booth 1968 for a revealing look at both today's and tomorrow's wireless products on display from leading IC, systems, EDA, and IP companies. Attendees at DAC are also invited to take the Wireless Walk. The Wireless Walk is made up of exhibitors showcasing products used in the design of wireless systems, including design tools, IP, foundry services, and design services.

All attendees will receive a Wireless Walk passport and map identifying each of the EDA and IP exhibitors that provide solutions for use in wireless system design. Attendees who visit participating exhibitors will receive a passport stamp, and those who collect enough stamps are eligible to participate in a select drawing for a special gift.

For everyone with a stake in wireless design or development, there will be much to see and many great ideas to seize upon.
