The Internet of Things (IoT) enables an exciting world of possibilities in the automotive industry over the next decade due to reduced maintenance costs and time spent in traffic as well as new revenue models. Much of the technological innovation for Internet of Cars is centered on the protocols, standards, and applications needed to enable these new capabilities. Security, however, is largely an afterthought.
