Tackling IP Challenges for Next Generation Technologies Like AI/ML/5G
Chair:
Chirag Dhruv - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., San Jose, CA
With so much focus on AI/ML/Compute applications, it’s critical to address how IPs come up with unique architectures/designs to address complex workload execution in an efficient manner. With increased complexity, it’s getting harder and harder to address verification challenges. At the same time, perf/watt has become a key focus point for IP developers, and ensuring leadership in this area is the key to success. This leads IP developers to focus on unique architectural improvements, and at the same time look at methodology improvements to get a strategic advantage in verification and power reduction. In this session, speakers will share their experience about how they tackle power reduction challenges including in-house and third-party IPs, discuss how key performance improvements have been achieved on AI/ML workloads, and how a robust verification of IPs like RISC-V can be achieved with formal verification techniques, and how we can apply Machine Learning to help improve performance by optimizing Phys.
